Self Portrait Project
This project has been an exploration of emotion. Through this work I am questioning how pain and joy can exist at once within one life and I am examining my belief that love is life’s ultimate significance.

Smiles
Through this work I contemplated both the pure joy that can accompany romantic love and ways in which happiness can sometimes, interestingly, bring up feelings of loss.

New Growth

City Perspective Project
This body of work consists of several unique abstract cityscapes in which I attempted to suggest the notion that people see things differently and that each individual has a valid experience unlike that of any other. There are many different ways of seeing the same city.

Representational
My initial artistic education was centered around representational work. These pieces were created just before I moved from New England to San Francisco. They were inspired by energy I felt while anticipating a move to a place very culturally different–where I had never been and didn’t know a soul. I believe I was inspired to paint familiar objects because I was experiencing them from a fresh exciting perspective.
